Wish for Wheels will take the bikes we happily assembled and give them to graduating kindergarteners this spring. Knowing that those tiny wheels will propel a 6-year-old who might never have received a bike otherwise, made the effort all the more rewarding. Looked what bubbled up on a blog (Fri, 01 Aug 2008 04:10:31 +0000) Cheers to one of our favorite photographers, John Johnston, for getting his new site up and humming. I went to the blog link and found the first story to be about our fancylicious new glass. He is to credit for the gorgeous, glowing shot below. And for this cool post. The new unit of measurement: 6-pack (Wed, 23 Jul 2008 16:14:50 +0000) Thanks to Ben for this savvy bit: Can your bike rack handle a six pack? New Belgium and Elysian (Sat, 19 Jul 2008 20:54:22 +0000) The word is out folks! We are teaming up with our great friends at Elysian Brewing in Seattle. While increasing efficiency and encouraging creative experimentation, we will make a bold collaborative step into the future of American craft brewing. This is an artisanal collaboration. Both of our brewing teams will use each other’s brewhouses while remaining independent enterprises. We’ll be brewing small-batch creative and experimental beers in Seattle like the Lips of Faith series while getting closer to our customers in the fertile Pacific Northwest brewing scene. Elysian in turn will brew larger batches in Fort Collins and be able to handle growing distribution needs as their beers become available in new U.S. markets, like New York, which opened July 1st of this year. Field-tested and employee-approved (Thu, 17 Jul 2008 21:56:06 +0000) The beauty of cans. Yes folks, we believe in market research, and if that means taking our cans rafting to prove their versatility and packabilty, then so be it. Fat Tire in a can proved not only to be quite appealing in the hand of the beholder, but also induced jigs of gratitude and enjoyment. Cheers to the alu-mighty can!
Algae notes (Thu, 17 Jul 2008 20:13:32 +0000) Many of you have heard the story of our partnering with Solix Biofuels to develop a new form of algae-based fuel. At this time, Solix’s investors recommend that they has build their pilot system adjacent to a coal-burning power facility to maximize CO2 reclamation. This is their preferred model down the road, so it makes good sense to us. We wish them the best in their exciting endeavor. Grow little algae, grow! Keep thinking (Tue, 08 Jul 2008 19:03:59 +0000) We meet, talk, swap ideas and inspiration with people that visit the brewery, come to our events, or simply seek us out. Heck, that’s why we started this blog. It also gives us a great place to link up with others. Here is one such example: The Mindful Word A good Speech (Tue, 08 Jul 2008 18:57:43 +0000) The band Arrested Development might take you back to the 80s, the emergence of hip-hop and poor hairstyle choices. Good times. But, anyone who has followed these guys knows that being musicians is simply a layer of their complex personalities. See their contributions to National Coalition for the Homeless, Nelson Mandela and the ANC, and more recently, UNICEF for relief in Sudan. So, to have one of there own, Gregg Adams, seek us out and do a write up was way cool. Check it out on Speech’s blog. |
